ENTERTAINMENTS.
RICKARDS VAUDEVILLE COMPANY. A moke enjoyable entertainment than that now being presented at His Majesty's Theatre by B.ickards Vaudeville Company it would bo difficult to find. Last evening the house was full The programme, which is a varied one, is full of clever and humorous items, every turn being a '* star" one. The performance will be repeated to-night and throughout the week.
PRINCE'S RINK. All sessions at Prince's Rink were extremely well patronised yesterday, patrons evidently appreciating the udmirablo arrangements made for their comfort by the management. MUSIC STUDENTS' CONCERT. The students of Mr. H. Barry Coney held a recital of vocal and pianoforte music in St. Andrew's Hall last, evening. The building was packed. Misses N. Evans, C. T. Major fi. HALLOWE'EN CONCERT. In celebn.t on of Hallowe'en., a social gathering was h;dd in the Chord Hall last evening by «ho member* of fcht> Auckland St. Andrew's Society. The members of tho pipe band opened an excellent programme by playing "Tho March of the Pipers." Other items on the programme were : A short address by P. M. Mack ay (president), dances by the girls of tho St. i Andrew's dancir<£ el;..*, songs by Will ! Lucas, and comical items by Mr. L. Abraham. Mrs. Neave played the accompaniments. At the conclusion of the gathering, " Auld Lam: Syne" was sung heartily by the many who were present.
TIVOLI THEATRE. At the Tivoli Theatre last night a company of high-cla.se vaudeville artists appeared before a crowded audience. The entertainment proved a great success, a special feature being the appearance of several local artists in :he second half. Miss Ren Ward (balladist) made a great hit. Her songs were well rendered, and she was thrice recalled. Mies Ivy Brit ion proved a great success in her song, Oh, Oh. Antonio," and had to respond to an encore. Mr. Jack Lewis made a good impression in his coon songs, while Messrs. J. Williams, J. Conroy, Norman Mud ford, Joe Hay ward, and C. Speak man were recalled for their efforts. Some good local amateurs took part in the amateur trials, ! which will be continued agab. this evenj ing. The entertainment as a whole is well I up to the standard, aj.d should draw large I houses at this new place of entei ainment.
FAREWELL CONCERT. A complimentary farewell conceit to take place on November 8, is being tendered to Miss Rene Qneen, the talented pianist, who is shortly leaving New Zea lan 1 to study under Madam Carreno. This concert is under the patronage of their Excellencies, Lord and Lady Islington, and the Mayor (Mr. V. J. Parr). Auckland's leading* artists are assisting, also Miss Donaldson, the talented violinist, of Wei ling ton. A musical tieat is assured for those who attend
