The captain of the steamer Bougainville, now lying in the Thames, gave carbolic acid in mistake for wine to some visitors to the vessel. .* Mr. Hubert Burrough, a member of the London Stock Exchange, died from the effect if the poison. The captain and the three gue,sts who suffered from the effects of the poison are; progressing favourably. One is in a critical condition.
