The Australasian Northern Union football team, in their match with Widnes, won by 23 points (four goals and five trie?) to nil. Four thousand people witnessed " the match. ■ In the first spell Gilbert and Broomham scored tries and Francis converted both. In the second half McCue scored once and Courtney twice. Francis also converted two of these tries. The second half of the game was very rough, and there were frequent fights in the scrummages. Holloway and Darmody, two Widnes players, were ordered off the ground.
