Suburbs Cricket Club was held on Satuiday night, Mr J. Johnson in the chair. The report showed that the club had won the Walhi Gold Mining Company's challenge shield! for the fifth successive season, that the batting average had been won by ; J- Johnson (average 30.6) and the bowling average by the same player (average 3.5 per wicket). Officers for the ensuing year were elected as under Patron, 1 the Very Rev. Father Brodie; president, Mr. J. T. Osborne; viee-preei-dente, Messrs. S. W. Hicks, T. Webb, Scott, Phillies T. Speak, R. Hay ward, and Mason; secretary and' treasurer, Mr. J.J. Johnson; captain, Mr. A Young; vice-captain, Mr. G. Judge; 1 Management Committee, Messrs. T.. J. Martin, T. Keane, J Wilson, W. Penrose, and the secretary; delegates to the association, Messrs. J. Johnson, T. Keane, and A. Young; scorer, Mr. T. Graham; •electors, Messrs. Johnson, Young, and Judge. PAPAKURA V. DRURY. Th Papakura Valley cricket team played their first match of ' the season on Saturday, when thev journeyed;to Drury and played the local train whom they defeated by 75 runs on the first innWea.
