BLUFF HARBOUR.
A CAPTAIN'S •<: TRIBUTE.
[BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] ' Inyercargill, Saturday. A NUMBER 1 . of representative . city . men were entertained at .luncheon on board tho" RiM,S:-:Corint)iic., Bluff to-day at the invitation of Captain McDongall, representing the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company. The gathering was notable for the tribute paid; by Captain Hart; of * the Corinthic, to the arrangements at Bluff Harbour. In proposing, " Success to the Harbour Board," Captain, Hart (whose vessel had* come up the harbour in darkness), ". said it was a harbour capable of extension when the future, demanded. The fact that the tides* had to be watched was nothing .unusual. When the Corinthic could enter on a dark night and come alongside without so much as crushing an egg, it completely refuted the charges that liad been made against the harbour. As for the deepening of the port, the approaches, wharves, lights, etc., they were all "first rate." '' *
