John Tipper, motor engineer, until lately carrying on business in Quay-street, has been adjudged a bankrupt. The first meeting of his creditors will be held in the official assignee's office at 3.30 p.m. on Friday. The new George V. sovereign has got into general circulation in Sydney. The Federal Treasury has hundreds of thousands of them iii hand. Through the ngency of the banks, these are becoming slowly distributed. 'Tho extended term for registration under the new Defence Act closed on Saturday, and it is understood that, as far as Hie Auckland district, is concerned, there arc very few eligible who havo not enrolled. The complete figures will not be available for some days. The Coronation festivities are causing a rush to secure suitable vehicles in Christchureh for the various functions. It was stated .at the hist meeting of the Christchureh Fire Board that it was now impossible to engage a. means of conveyance for taking part in the Coronation procession.
