AUCKLAND CLUB MATCHES.

The members of the Auckland Golf Club attended in strong force at Middloniore Park links on Saturday afternoon, the occasion being the mixed foursomes handicap match. The fine weather attracted an entry of 130, and some- enjoyable games were played. The winners were P. T. Upton and Miss Upton, with a net score of 84. The best gross score was put up by D. May and Miss E. Pierce. The best cards handed in are as follows: —

MATJNGAKIEKIE CLUB. The men's eclectic, match, for prizes presented by Mr. J. A. Peacock, was played on Saturday by- the' members of the Maungakiekie Golf Club at the One-tree Hill links, and resulted in a win for Dr. Harke, who returned a gross card of 52 for Ilia 10 holes. The best cards sent in were as under:—Dr. Harke, gross 52, handicap IS, net. 34; Gardner. 55-16—39; Gulliver, 60-18-42; Cooke. 58—12—46; Taylor, 68—20—48. A mixed foursomes handicap will he played for prizes presented by Mr. Gulliver on Saturday next. WAITEMATA LADIES' CLUB. The draw for the foursomes of the Waitomata Ladies' Golf Club (seniors and juniors), which will bo played on Wednesday next, are as follows:— Craigmile and Duder play Miss Miller and Mrs. Cooper, Misses Harvey and liishworth play Misses Gudgeon and Cousins. Misses Newell and G. Grahame play Misses G. Bray and Manisty, Mrs. Martin and' Miss Dunster are partners. Play will commence at two o'clock. Post entries will also be received, ROTORUA LADIES' CLUB. The llrst, round of match play resulted in 0. Reading, of the Royal Sydney Club, defeating 11. M. Stephens by 2 up and 1 to play; A. Gallagher, a lino Scottish player, defeating F. J. lilaxlnnd. a young player of much promise, by 5 up and 4 to play; 0. 11. O'Brien (ox-champion) defeating W. S. Laidloy, one. of tho Slate's most, promising players, by '2 up and 1 to play (this w:i a very tine game), and Eric L. Apperly defeated 11. "Me.Lelland by 13 up and 11 to play. In the semi-finals Reading beat. Gallagher, and O'Brien beat Apperly. The competition was very open, owing to the absence of such " stars" are the Hon. M.
