ENTERTAINING THE GUESTS.

KING GEORGE'S LUNCHEON.

London, May 22.

There were 60 guests at King George's luncheon to the Overseas Premiers to-day. The guests included all the visiting Premiers, the Duke and Duchess of Connaught, the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, Mr. and Mrs. Asquith, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ilarcourt, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Batchelor, Dr. and Mrs. Findlay, Senator Pearce, and the Cape Colony and Rhodesian delegates.

His Majesty chatted with the delegates individually for an hour and a-half, but there was no speeches.

Mr. Asquith afterwards entertained the delegates at dinner, the other guests including Lord Loreburn, the Earl of Aberdeen, the Earl of Minto, Earl Beauchainp, Lords Milner, Kitchener, Tennyson, Denman, and Brassey, Sir George Reid, and Sir William Hall-Jones.

At the luncheon Lady Ward sat upon the King's left and the Princess Christian upon his right.

The delegates met- at the Colonial Office to arrange the social engagements connected with the Conference.

Two thousand invitations have been issued for the garden party that is to be given to-day in honour of the visit of the Overseas Premiers.

The Foreign Office reception, which was attended by about 3000 guests, was the largest and most brilliant in recent years. Every member of the Houses of Parliament, every Privy Councillor, and many high officials and colonial residents were invited. Lord Beauchamp was the official host, on behalf of the Government.

The entrances to the hall and staircases were converted into a fairyland, flowers and national flags predominating. THE DOMINIONS' DELEGATES. The official list of delegates appointed to represent the Dominions at the Conference, is as follows — Australia : Mr. A. Fisher (Prime Minister), Mr. E. L. Batchelor (Minister for External Affairs), Mr. G. F. Pearce "(Minister for Defence), Mr. A. Atleo Hunt (Secretary Department of External Affairs), Mr. G. T. Allen (Secretary of the Commonwealth Treasury), Commander S. A. Petheridge (Secretary of the Defence Department). Mr._ Shepherd (Secretary to the Prime Minister), Mrs. Fisher, Mrs. Batchelor, Mrs. Atlee Hunt, and Mrs. Shepherd accompany the party. Union of South Africa : General Louis fiotha (Prime Minister), Mr. H. C. Hull (Minister .for Finance), Mr. F. S. Malan (Minister for Education), Mr. W. E. Bok (Secretary to the Prime Minister and interpreter). Mrs. Botha, Mrs. Hull, and Mrs. Malan are of the party. New Zealand: Sir J. G. Ward (Prime Minister), Dr. J. G. Findlav (AttorneyGeneral). Lady Ward and Mrs. Findlay accompany their husbands. Canada: Sir Wilfrid Laurier (Prime Minister), -'Sir'-Frederick Borden (Minister for .Defence), Mr. Brodeur (Minister for Marine). Lady Borden, Miss Borden, and Mrs. Brodeur will be of the party, and Messrs. E. J- Lemaire, Charles L. Panet, and George 0. Morrissett will accompany the Prime Minister and the other Ministers as private secretaries.
