HELPING THE COMMITTEES.
INCREASED GRANT. The chairman said that this year the Board was able to increase the,, grant .for. incidentals to school committees to 6s per head on the average attendance, un increase of 9d on last year's capitation. The Act fixed a minimum of 5s 6d, but the Board was able, without straining its resources, to make a grant of 6s, per head. The increase would, in the aggregate, represent a considerable sum, and he had no doubt that it would be gratefully accented by every committee. It was" decided to adopt the recommendation of the Finance Committee that; the extra capitation should be paid on the basis decided upon in 1909. .. "'
