The Canterbury Thursday cricketers, seniors and juniors, met the Wellington Wednesday teams hero to-day. The Wellington seniors in their first innings made 212 (Harris 43, Thompson not out 37), and Canterbury replied with 51 (Bright 19) and 83 (Bettlo 18, Simpson 15). Wellington thus won by an innings and 178 runs. In tho Junior game' Canterbury scored 90 (Pollard not out 38) and 78 (Gallety not out 16). Wellington made 81 and 92, winning by live runs. Tlio Waikatw championship matches were continued on Saturday, wlven Frankton, wlio were leading for the cup, met Hamilton East, and after an exciting finish tlhe latter proved the victors by the narrow margin of seven runs. Hamilton East batted first and notched 101 runs (Paterson (49, Peebles 26 not out, and I'omcroy 10). Frank ton commenood their innings well, having two wickets down for 47 runs and later four for 63, but the late-comers failed to make a stand, and the total only reached 94. MeKenrle (40) was top scorer. This win puts the Hamilton East team on an even footing with the Frank ton team for the championship.
