At the Bootmakers' Union Conference today the following motions were carried :— : ' "That the congress consider the question Cof cancelling .'.. registration under the Conciliation and Arbitration Act." . "In. the "event of the congress coming to a decision, no action to be taken until the federal executive has ; taken the - vote of the federation on the question."
■:'. "That a committee consisting :of delegates from each branch secure evidence on the present system of working in the various , factories, and report to the branches, which shall elect a committee to draft a quantity - statement.".: •
; "That' the branches be recommended to put the sum ;of 2s per member into the political fighting fund, branches to have full power to spend the fund as they think fit ... in connection with the New Zealand Labour party.'*.
