The Westminster Gazette says that gun-running in the Persian Gulf cannot be stopped without the co-opera-tion of France, which has hitherto not seen its way to relinquish trading rights in Muscat. Meanwhile, a partial remedy in England's hand would be to stop the export of Home-made' rifles, which find their way to the north-western frontier of India, via Muscat.
