FOB THE SOUTH POLE. The United States Explorers' Club has been notified that, the Japanese Expedition to the South Pole will take its departure next month. The scientific work of the expedition is to be in charge of two representatives of the Waseda University.
PARIS TO NEW YORK. A French cyclist, M. Colardeau, announces that he will start next spring on a motor-cycle in an attempt to lower the record put up in the motor-car race from Paris to New York. M. Colardeau will leave shortly to arrange for the necessary supply depots through Siberia.
MARGARET ANGUS'. Miss Margaret Anglin, the well-known actress, who toured Australia under the J. C. Williamson management some time ago, is reported from Winnipeg to be brc&en down in health. She has been taken to the Glencose Sanitorium, and her condition is such that it is thought that she will never again be seen before the footlights.
