Following upon' numerous evasions of the Immigration' Law by Chinese at Vancouver, the Dominion Trade Department has ordered that in future no certificates in the Chinese language be accepted for admission purposes. Departing Chinese must in future produce their admission certificates. The penalty for breaches of the law is fixed at 500 dollars poll-tax, with the alternative of deportation. Photographs will be taken, and the utilising of the finger-print system is under consideration.
