Wellington, Sunday. The father of the late Michael Quirke,
Pahiatua, who was accidentally shot at
; Terrace End, Pahnerston North, during • 4 the Powelka. scare, on April 4, is petitioning Parliament for an inquiry into the cir- • cumstances of his son's death, with a view to compensation. It is urged that the deceased was engaged in assisting the police in the search for Powelka, when he met with his death, that the voluntary 1 - oger of. his in that capacity had been oc- I cfejted, and that sufficient care was not j shown fay the others concerned when such
