Counsel said his client claimed the right to trial by jury. The application for adjournment was opposed by the police, and some argument took place as to whether accused had the right to have the case taken before a jury. Pending further inquiries the magistrate resolved to treat the case as an - indictable one, and to take the evidence at once.
