THE PONSONBY DRAPER. The drapery shop of Mr. 0. E. Hi steel, situated at 304 and 306, Ponsonby Road, near the Three Lamps, is well known in Auckland. Christmas being close at hand, Mr. Histcd has decided to take advantage of the occasion by holding a great Christmas sale. This will especially delight the hearts of the ladies, for it i« announced that most liberal reductions will take place in all departments. A fine display of bargains is shown in all the windows, which aro specially dressed in keeping with the festive season. Among the many bargains may bo mentioned a line of plain and fancy Belfast handkerchiefs for ladies. These are boing sold from 6d to 2s 3d each, and are a marvel of cheapness. The display of real point lace and Tencriffe runners, table centres, and tray cloths is particularly choice. A very handsome tray cloth can be obtained for 3s lid, and real hand-made afternoon tea cloths and runners are "being sold also at the greatly reduced price of 3s lid. Ladies' underwear samples and corsets are being sold at prices that appeal, and a special lino of real Maltese silk hand-made scarves are being offered at special prices. Mr. Histed has a tremendous stock of all the most fashionable veils and runners, Peter Pan collars, and a specially cheap lot of sunshades from Is lid to 4« lid. Ho has also a nice stock of purses, ladies' companions, stocking bags, besides everything else in the drapery lino that the hearts of the ladies might desire. Mr. Histcd desires to turn all his stock into cash, and an excellent opportunity is afforded to country visitors, as well as the ladies of the Auckland district, to obtain all articles in. the drapery line at prices which will astonish them. It was a happy thought on Mr. Histed's part to hold a sale at this season, and no doubt his enterprise will be well rewarded.
