RABBITS IN KING COUNTRY.
A RAPID INCREASE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.]
Wellington-, Friday. According to Mr. Jennings, M.P., who has just returned from a visit to his electorate, rabbits are increasing at a very rapid rate in certain portions of the King Country. He says that a very large number were observed between Otorohanga and Kopira, mostly on unoccupied land. He states that the present system of poisoning and shooting does not appear to be' effective, and that unless some successful steps arc taken to cope with the nuisance a serious trouble is in front of the settlers. .Mr. Jennings is bringing the subject under the notice of the Minister for Agriculture.
