The Government offices throughout New Zealand will be closed on Tuesday, the 30th inst., in celebration of St. Andrew's Day. ■
There were only three occupants of the police cells last evening, two - persons charged with drunkenness and one with making a false declaration.
According to a Gazette notice the designation of the St. John's College Rifle Cadets has been changed to the St. John's Collegiate School Rifle Cadets, with effect from October 25 last.
By Order-in-Council it has been provided that in future the Marine Department may take, during the close season, any trout from the waters of any river or stream, for the purposes of pisciculture.
