'.Mr. Donald ALEXANDER StmtERLAND, J.P., of Onehunga, has been appointed .a . Coroner within New Zealand.

Sergeant Hanson, who has been stationed at Auckland for over seven years, has been transferred to the charge of the Blenheim police station.

Mr. Charles V. Houghton, manager for the New Zealand Shipping Company m Auckland, returned to New Zealand by the Turakina, which arrived in Wellington yesterday, accompanied by Mrs. and Miss Houghton.

The Rev. Mother Aubcrt, superior of the Order of the Sisters of Compassion, arrived from Wellington yesterday morning, to view the property which the Catholics of Auckland propose to purchase for a foundling home for destitute infants.

An interesting wedding took place yesterday afternoon at St. Mark's Church, Remuera, when Mr. Henry Dawson, son of the late Dr. Dawson, Auckland, was married to Miss Kathleen Shera, only daughter of the late Mr. J. M. Shera. There were two bridesmaids, Miss Dawson (sister of the bridegroom) and Miss Ruby Sceats. The bridegroom was supported by Mr. L. Shera as best man, and Mr. Pullen as groomsman.

A quiet wedding was celebrated on November 9 at St. Peter's, Onehunga, the Rev. Canon Haselden officiating. Mr. Ernest Kusabs. a popular and well-known resident of Rotonui, was the bridegroom, and Miss Louie. Phipps the bride. The bridesmaids were Misses Ivy Phipps and Ruth Boardman. The groomsmen were Messrs. W. Phipps and Clyde McGitp. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bridal party and guests were entertained by Captain and Mrs. Phipps, parents of the bride, at their residence. Later the biide and bridegroom left for Takapuna.
