The following Stock Exchange sales have been reported Golden Bed, 15s; Waihi Grand Junction, 36s 9d, 36s 9d, 36s 9d, 38s (four parcels); Rising Sun, 37s 6d. NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENCY CO.'S REPORT. Horses: At the Durham Yards on Friday a large number of horses were brought forward and sold under good competition. Heavy draughts sold at from £27 to £44; medium do., £18 10s to £25. The advertised unbroken colts and fillies sold from £17 10s to £38; light harness and hacks, £9 to £20; Shetland ponies, £10 10« to £15 ss; others ponies, £2 to £7 10s. The thoroughbred horse Barata brought 50 guineas and the draught stallion Ocean Gem 42 guineas. A gig realised £12 10s and a spring-cart £10. At Pukekohe on Wednesday we held our monthly sale and had a full yarding of cattle. Dairy cows close to profit sold at from £5 to £8 10s; heifers, £3 17s 6d to £7 ss; other sorts, £3 to £5 2s 6d; bulls, £3 to £8 8s; two to three-year-old steers, £3 12s to £5 2s 6d; yearlings to two years, £2 3s to £2 16s; empty cows, £2 to £4 2s; heifers, £2 to £3 12a 6d; calves, 15s to £1 10s. No grown steers, were yarded. Beef was yarded in large numbers, 109 head being ■ offered. Newmarket rates ruled. Cattle: At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday cattle of all descriptions were yarded in large numbers and met a ready sale. Dairy cows sold at from £4 5s to £8 12s 6d; empty cows, £2 2s to £3 16s; calves, 19s to £1 19s. Beef was yarded in full numbers and sold scarcely at last week's rates. Oxen sold to 21s per ICOlb and cows 17s to 19s Steers sold at from £6 10s to £9 15s; cows, £3 15s to £7 10s. Sheep: The Newmarket Yards were well filled on Tuesday. Prices all round were easier. Wethers sold at from 10s to 17s 3d; ewes, 9s 3d to 15s 9d; hoggets, 9s 6d to 15s. Lambs, in full supply, sold at lower rates—from 12s to 13s 9d for extra well done ones, other sorts 8s 3d to 9J. Pies* Porkers sold at from 19s 6d to £1 17s; weaners, 10» 6d.to 14s 9d; baconers, £2 2s to £3 4fl We submitted ft large catalogue of hides, skins, and tallow on Tuesday, all lines meeting with keen competition at late rates. -,: . Wheat: Finds ready sale at 4» 7d ex store. Oats: In good demand at 2s 4d ex store, with prospects of a slight rise.' Chaff: Market firm at £4 to £4 10s ex store for local and Southern. Barley at 2s 8d ex store finds ready sale. Bran and pollard: In steady demand at £4 and £5 respectively. Potatoes: Good samples are scarce and prices are ruling high owing to short supply, realising up to £6 10s ex store. Butter: Registered brands, first grade 9id, second grade 9d;- farmers' separator, first grade Bid to 84d, second grade 7Jd to BJd. Eggs find ready sale at 10id per dozen. Cheese: In good demand. Factory, 6Jd; farmers', 6d. Fungus: Selling freely at 5d per lb.
