/ [PROM OUR. OWN CORRESPONDENT."! j ,j The twenty-seventh week of the North Island Egglaying Association's third competition was concluded at Cambridge on Friday last. The weather during the week was favourable. The highest layings for the week were:—Championship class: J. W. Graham's white Leghorns, 31. Light breeds : Raglan County Chronicle's'., white Leghorns, 32; W. M. Bankart's white Leghorns', 31; A. H. Padman's white Leghorns, '31; A. Denton's brown Leghorns, 31; W. A. Nixon's white Leghorns, 31. Heavy breeds: F..J. Marfell's black Orpingtons! 35; E. Veale's black Orpingtons,.33; Agricultural and #Pastoral Association's black Orpingtons, 26; J. I. Whrtehousc's buff Orpingtons, 26. The leading pens at date are: Championship class: J. W. Graham's white Leghorns, 615. ~ Light breeds : \\\ Runciman's brown Leghorns, 693; J. Cooke's white Leghorns, 676; A. H. Padman's white Leghorns, 675. Heavy breeds: F. J. Marfell's black Orpingtons, 755; C. M. Peck's ' black Orpingtons, 612; W. D. Shepherd's black Orpingtons, 611. The following are the results of the duck competition to date: —S. H. Scott's Indian Runners 38 for the week, grand total ; 924; W. Knight's Indian Runners, 20980; T. Dowthwaite's Indian Runners, 26—836; J. Smeaton's Indian Runners 30—747; C. Hammond's Indian Runners, 31—917".' Mrs. J. Scott's buff Orpingtons, 32—711. ■..'• The monthly prize for the most eggs laid during October was won in the light section by W. (i Care's white Leghorns with a total , of ■ 149 egsk and in the heavy section by C. Hammon's white Itpcbe with a total of 135 eggs. » .
