ARCHHILL GULLY SEWER.
A MOUNT ALBERT PROPOSAL.
At its last meeting the Drainage Board decided to return unopened.the tenders for a section of the Arckhill Gully sewer, to allow the . local bodies affected to come to a decision regarding the size of the proposed sewer. Mr. M. J. Coyle, chairman "of the Mount Albert Road Board, informed his Board last night that at the next meeting of the - Drainage Bcferd a notice of motion would come up to rescind this resolution. , It was also possible a legal opinion would be placed before the Board to the effect that a storm-water sewer could not be laid in the gully, even if each local body found the money for its own portion. The Board resolved, on the motion of Mr. Ellis-don, to inform the Archhill Road Board that it was prepared to consider the advisableness of constructing a stormwater sewer frojm Alexancfhi-strect to the end of the Mount Albert district, the cost to b6 borne in equal proportion by the # two bodies. It was also resolved to point out that Commercial lload was not the Mount Albert boundary, and to take steps to hold a poll of ratepayers in the event of the reply being favourable. One of the members expressed the view that the district to be drained should include the Eden Cricket Ground and Argylestreet. . ' • ■
