ROTORUA CATCHES. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT. : ■ Rotobua, Tuesday. Thk fishing season opened in bad weather. Trout are plentiful and in much better condition than at the beginning of last season, while; "slabs"-are: scarce.
The following are the largest "takes" reported —Baylies and party, 53; Duff and party, 41 ; Taylor and party, 32 ; McLean, 30.

Huntly, Tuesday.
The fishing season opened here on Monday morning, but only , one angler was out, the experiences of the last two seasons having had the effect of checking the enthusiasm of the former large number of Izaak Walton's disciples. The fishermen referred to, though out only for a few hours, landed three rainbow trout, # . the smallest weighing I£l|>) and the largest nearly 41b.
