The Tourist Department, which has control of 30 reserves in different parts of New Zealand, has taken steps to secure that no person, under a penalty of £20, shall capture or destroy any bird or animal, or attempt to take the eggs or young of any bird from the reserves, without first obtaining the written permission of the Minister in charge of the Department.
