:■•''-■ The champion amateur long-distance road rider, Mr. K. A- Pearson, has taken.a seat on the N.B.W. 1 Cyclists' Union -Executive, vice Mr. H. K. Maxwell, resigned. Pearson's record for. 24 hours' continuous road riding, established about 1897, when he covered 301 miles, still stands good, . awaiting the next best man. Tho CiVmingDunlop road race from Goulburn to Sydney on the 18th inst. promises to be the most successful contest yet held over the course by<the promoting firm. Up till last evening, close on 200 nominations had been handed in. It is expected that 250 ■entries at least will be received when nominations close. ' » . , A fast 59 miles unpfioed cycle road ride has just been accomplished by H. Green, one of England's crack road riders. Green rode the " 50" in 2h. lm. 25., which is some five minutes better than the previous world's record. Green rode a machine fitted with a three-speed gear, the variations being 115, 91. and 72in, the total weight of the cycle being 26|lb. Green continued on for the 100" record, but could do no better than 4h. 57m., a long way slower than his own work of 4h. 36m. 22c. He had the assistance ">f a slight favourable, wind.
