HOCKEY.
REPRESENTATIVE TRIAL MATCH. The Auckland Hockey Association will hold a representative trial match at Remuera to-day, when the team chosen to play Cambridge next Saturday will meet the next eleven. The teams are as follows:—
Representatives: Goalkeeper, Allen; fullbacks, Speight and Swinburne; halfbacks, Von Sturmer, Waters, and P. Lepine; forwards, Brooke-Smith, Munro, Mason, J. Lepino, Jacobsen. Emergencies: Fullback, Richards; halfback, Irwin; forwards, Bekker and Clist.
B Team : Goalkeeper, Davies ; fullbacks, Sherman and Richards; halfbacks, Wilson, Irwin, and Exley ; forwards, Clist, Bekker, Parton, Stone, Little. Emergencies: Farquarson, Mills, Flower, Oathro, Timms. The representatives will play in white and the B team in colours. AUCKLAND TOURING TEAM. The Auckland touring team has so far suffered no disgraceful defeats,, but, on the other hand, has had an honourable draw with Wellington. The 3to 1 goal defeat by Canterbury was no disgrace, and as Wellington were defeated by Canterbury by 2 goals to nil this makes the farm appear consistent. The touring team play Otago at Dunedin to-day, and a good, close game should result. Private letters received from the members of the team state that the tourists are being royally entertained at all centres. ' " LADIES' HOCKEY. A match will be played at Remuera to-day at two o'clock between the Rawhiti B v. Moana teams. The following will represent Rawhiti B:Misses Aspden, Sinclair, Little (2), Linton, Beamish, Philpot, Nankervis, Wilcox, Bates, Speight. Emergencies: Misses Page, Nicholson. The Moana team is as follows: —Misses Nellie Bennett, I. Cardno, B. Porrett, M. Bennett, B. Jenkins, F. Blackburn, G. Philcox, P. Goudie, L. Goudie, M. Waller, I. Sehischka. LADIES' TOURNAMENT. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PKESS ASSOCIATION.] , Napier, Friday. The New Zealand ladies' hockey tournament opened at Hastings this afternoon in ideal weather. The first round resulted as follows: Nelson beat Wairarapa B by 4 goals to nil; Taranaki beat Horowhenua by 3 goals to nil; Hawke's Bay B beat Wellington by 2 goals to 1; Auckland beat Wairarapa A by 2 goals to 1, after a very good game; Hawke's Bay A beat Wanganui by 4- goals to nil. >■ ■ -.'■■ j
