Wellington, Thursday. JKTew Zealand appears to be a- poor market for the precious of the Orient. It was stated at a meeting of creditors today, that endeavours to sell here aigrettes of rare beauty had entirely failed, there being no sale 1 for any but the imitation plumes. The market had been sounded with some valuable ceramic ware looted from Pekin when the international troops occupied the city, but also to no purpose. No one appealed to seemed to know the value of ancient pottery and objects of Eastern art. Some rare old Greek coins, too, had been offered, but no business was done in them either. There did not seem to be any eagerness for museums here to pay very much, if anything, for specimens of Oriental art, judging by the fruitless results of the efforts made to dispose of them. i
