THE LOST AUSTRALIAN.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.

London, August 4. The Admiralty has declined the request of the owners of the missing barque Australian, which left Mazatlan, Mexico; for Sydney in November, to make a search of the South Pacific for the missing vessel.

< All hope for the safety of the Australian was abandoned some months ago. She sailed on November 25 in ballast from Mazatlan for Sydney, and was never again sighted. As long ago as March 12 she was posted at Lloyd's as "overdue," and in June as "missing," and since then she has been uninsurable.
