• London, July 10. Mrs. Pankhurst and Mrs. Haverfield. (Lord Abingcr's daughter) were fined £5 each for the part they took in the disturbances 'on June 29, when a party of suffragettes attempted to force their way into the 'House of Commons. ■

The magistrate advised them to appeal on point of law raised during their defence, respecting the right of British subjects to present petitions to the Crown. The remaining cases were postponed. ,
