London, July 10. The Times, commenting on the value to the Imperial Government of such visits to England as the present visit of Earl Grey, Governor-General of Canada, and Lord Melbourne, High Commissioner fir South Africa, expresses the hopeHhat it will become the practice, especially in the case of the more distant dominions, like Australia. Such' visits by Governors-General, while they hold the position, adds the Times, will help the Home Government to appreciate the colonial standpoints on questions of Imperial importance.
