BOARD OF EDUCATION.
A HEFTING of the Auckland Board of Education was held yesterday morning, when there were present: Messrs. C. J. Parr (chairman), A. R. Harris, G. Edgecumbe, L. J. Bagnall, Or. J. Garland, J. D. McKenzie, E. C. Purdie, C. T. Barriball, and H. J. Greenslade, M.P.
Finance: The Finance Committee recommended payment of accounts amounting to £710 on the administration account, £674 on tho building account, and £401 on the manual and technical account. The committee recommended that application be made to tho Minister for a grant to cover the cost of furnishing the science-room and the lecture-room at the Training College, and that a protest should be sent to the Minister against tho new method of calculating averago attendance, upon which the statutory grant of lis 3d was paid to the Board. The report was adopted.

Killcn, assistant secondary department, Aratapu District High School; Miss E. E. Rae,: fifth assistant, Waiokaraka; Miss A. Armstrong, assistant. Matamata; Mrs. E. A. Rigby, temporary assistant, Opotiki; Miss L. Phillips, assistant, Ararua; Miss R. M. Reilly, teacher, Katherine Bay " aided" school: Miss C. Woodward, teacher, Pakoka household school; A. M. Rowe, substitute assistant, Bayfield; Miss M. F. Egan, substitute assistant, Newton West; T. B. F. Mooncy, substitute, Araparara and Mangakura half-time schools; Miss E. Murtagh, pupil-teacher, Manunui; Miss G. C. A. Astley, pupil-teacher, from Devonport to Avondale; Miss ■M. E. I. Connell, pupilteacher, from Devonport to Whangarei; E. E. McGaughran, pupil-teacher, Huntly; Miss M* Neeley, pupil-teacher, from Newton East to Parnell; Miss C. M. Jory, pupilteacher, from Newton East to Waihi East. The Teachers Selection Committee reported that committees had been consulted in regard to proposed appointments: — Komata North: - Miss S. Wilson. Bayfield: First assistant master. Messrs. T. R. Jones, A. Murdoch, and W. Bt'rss. The committee recommended that committees bo consulted in regard 'to proposed appointments as follows:— Edcndale: Headmaster. Messrs. N. R. McKenzie, F. Murphy, A. N. Scott, and 0. A. Semadeni. Waihi South: Headmaster Messrs. W. J. Wernham, W. Chappel), H. T. Gibson, and M. Priestley. - Paemako: Solo charge, ,E. E. Funkc. Whangaripo: Sole, charge, Miss I. M. Hoffmann. Te Aroha West: .Assistant, Miss E. I. Reynolds. Grafton: Assistant master, Messrs. W. Birss, J. H. Braithwaitc, R. Carnachan, and J. Vuglar. Kimihia: Assistant, Miss B. E. Stevens. Whananaki: Assistant, Miss A. M. Buxton. Waihi South: Assistant, Miss C. George. Whangaroa North: Charles W. Brown.
