Plans, etc., have been prepared, and the plant will be similar to that erected at the company's works at Waikino, but not quite, so powerful. TALISMAN. -'_.;"'■' U [BX TELEGRAPH.—OWN", CORRESPONDENT.] ':."'\'( Waihi, Wednesday. Steady progress is being made at the Talisman mine with the unwatering of the 13th level. Yesterday there was about 65ft of water in the shaft. ' ANTIMONY MINING. The directors of Lanigan's Antimony and Mineral Mines, Limited, ; who visited the company's property - this ' week, ? state that they were well . satisfied with the immediate prospects of. the mine.'■ They report as follows: —Antimony of excellent quality is being taken from every portion of the present workings, andis rapidly increasing in weight and quality as the work proceeds. The main level is carrying 15in of antimony on the footwall. A winze in this level has been sunk to a depth of 10ft, at which depth the ore has increased another! 6ih in width. A ventilating shaft has been commenced to connect with tho main level, arid has been sunk about 10ft, going down on antimony, which has widened to lOin on the floor of the shaft, and is increasing in width as the work proceeds. The machinery for the profitable working of the mine will shortly bo installed. In the meantime, although progress is rather slow, a quantity, of excellent ore is being prepared for shipment. Mr. Creagho remained at the mine to direct further development J and to supervise the preparation of the shipment. - . NOTES. 'I The Thames Drainage Board will meet at Mr. Nicholl's office at 10 a.m. to-morrow., , . - A meeting of the Trafalgar Gold Mining Company is to be held at three p.m. to-day, to consider a resolution to wind up the company. . •• «. , '.;- At a meeting of the South Kapanga Gold Mining Company, Limited, yesterday the final resolutions for the winding up of the company, were passed. Mr. G. S. Kissling was appointed liquidator. ". .-> The manager of the Kapowai", Gold Mining Company reports for the week ended February 27 as follows: men are still working on the cross reef above No. 2 level. A little gold is seen every day, but • on the whole the dirt is not payable. The low level has been advanced a further distance of sft. Tho country is firmer, and water is, still coming :'. from the ... face. According to the dip in ; No. 2 level the lode should be met with in another 30ft of driving.
