[BY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.]

CnmsxcnoßCH, Wednesday." At the Aldington Yards to-day there were fairly large entries of stock and a good attendance. Fat cattle sold at about last week's rates. Store sheep and fat lambs were easier, and fat sheep sold at still lower prices. Tigs sold well at late rates. There was a rather dull demand for store cattle. The entry of store sheep was the largest of the season, but the quality was only moderate, there being a number of North Island and Chatham Island sheep among the lines of wethers and ewes. There was a large entry of lambs, and they were mostly light and inferior sorts. The demand for all classes was easier, and prices showed a reduction on late rates. Forward rape lambs were the only sorts that maintained anything like late values, while there was a considerable drop in .low-conditioned and t stained, lambs. Ewes of all ages also suffered in price, even young ewes not being in such strong demand as of late. Wethers were dull of sale, though there were some good lines on offer, and several lines were passed 'orward. Wethers made from 12s to 12s 6d ; medium, lis to lis 6d; small, low-conditioned and travelstained, 7h 3d to 10s 3d. Forward rape lambs sold from lis 6d to 12s 9d; medium, 10s to 10s 8d; inferior, 7s 9d to 9s. Best two-tooth ewes" sold to 18s lOd; others, 15s 6d to 16s 6d; small, lis 6d to 15s 3d; sound mouth, 12s; and four, six, and eight-tooth, to 12s lid.

There was an entry of 5061 fat lambs, or about 350 less than last week, the quality on the whole-being good. The export buyers having again reduced their limits, all classes were easier, heavy-weight lambs being most affected. The buyers" limits are now: 4Jd for 361b, 4.} d for. 3falb to 421b, and second quality 3Jd for over 421b. There were 4665 lambs "taken for freezing at 12s 2d to 14s 7d. A few heavyweights made from 15s 9d to 17s 6d. The entry of fat sheep was not quite so large as last, week, but the supply 'was more than sufficient for the butchers, and prices showed a further decline. The range of prices was: Prime wethers, 15s 6d ,to 17s Id; others, 12s 94 to 15s; prime ewes, lis 6d to l4s (extra to 14s lid}; medium, 9s 6d to lis; and aged and light. 6s to 9s. The yarding of fat cattle totalled 305 head, the quality being' somewhat below that of late sales. There, was a fair demand, .and prices showed little or no alteration from last week. Steers' made from £6 17s 6d to £11 7s 6d; heifers £5 2s 6d to ' £7 12s 6d; and cows, £4 17s 6d' to £8 (equal to 22s to 23s for ..prime, ;i9s to 21s*6d for medium, 17s to 18s 6d for cow and inferior per 1001b). Veal calves sold at 4s 7d to 50s, according to sine and quality. There was a large entry of store cattle, including some good lines, but the demand lacked the freshness shown at last sales. Local yearlings made 225; 15 to 18 months, 38s to 48s; two-year steers, £3 2s 6d to £3 ss; two-year heifers, £2 8a to £2 18s 6d; two and a-half-

year steers, £4 17s 6d; three-year steers, £5 7s bd to £6; dry cows, 25s to £3. Southland cattle, of which there were consignments. totalling: about'' 150 head, made: For yearlings, *28s 6d; two-year 7 steers.v £2 8s "to £2 17s; two and a-half to: three-year heifers, £3 10s;; three-year steers, £5; Wires and four-year steers, £6 19s; dry cows, 38s, to £3 3s. -, *,» Dairy cows • were in fair demand, and made £3 10» to £9 15 3 . ' DUNEDIN r iRAIN MARKET. [BY telegraph.—press association.] DUNEDiy, Wednesday. There is a fair demand for prime milling wheat, and a moderate amount of business is passing at from 3s 9d to 3s lOd (sacks extra) on trucks at country sidings. Considering the tone of the London market the present level of values is likely to be maintained. Fowl wheat is scarce, and in small lots is fetching more than milling. There is no improvement in the demand for oats. Prime milling is worth Is f>id ; best bright short feed, Is 4£d to Is sd ; inferior to medium, Is 3d to Is 4d ex store (sacks extra).
