London, January 26 A representative meeting of the Northern shipowners, held at Newcastle yesterday, adopted the principle of an international combination, to fit the supply of tonnage to the demand, for submission to the approaching Baltic Conference at Copenhagen.

Support has been received from all parts of the United Kingdom and abroad, representing capital of £50.000,000, and the scheme has been welcomed with enthusiasm in Japan.
