The City Council has decided to make a. .strong protest to the Minister for Defence in respect, to permission having been granted for the use of King Edward barracks last Sunday for the purpose of an entertainment for pecuniary gain to the promoters, the Council's permission not having been obtained, and the Council having a by-law prohibiting entertainments of the character mentioned on Sundays.
