Beuter's Agency states that' the employees on the Algerian section of the Paris-Lyons-Mediterranean railway struck owing to the dismissal of two conveners of a meeting of railway men which resolved to desert or refuse .to serve in- war time, oppose the transport of troops to the frontier in war time, and to favour general strikes in peace tin™ . The meeting was held at the instance of the railwaymen's national syndicate.
