The;," Wallabies" (Australian amateur Rubgy football team) played their third match yesterday, when they met and defeated Cornwall by three goals-one, try to a goal. The attendance numbered 12,000. Griffin obtained one and Russell two tries in the' first half, McKivatt adding the fourth in the second half. Carmichael converted three of the tries. Wilson scored a try for Cornwall, Solomon converting. The Australian -Rugby f League team (professionals) played their first match yesterday, when they met and defeated Mid-Rhdndda by four goals four tries to two tries. The attendance was disappointing. In the first half Morton and Jones each scored one try, and Messenger two tries, Messenger kicking three goals. In the second half Messenger kicked a goal from the. field. Wrentmore and Thomas secured tries for Rhondda. Messenger's play was of a brilliant order. '/■■/*.
The " Wallabies"' have been victorious in the three matches they have played. On Saturday week they 'defeated Devon by three tries to one, and last Wednesday Gloucester were beaten by them by two goals, two tries to ail. * Their engagements for the next few weeks are :— October 7, Glamorgan County; October, 10, Penygrnig; October 15, ' Neath, at Aboravon ; October 17, Llanely ; October 19, Monmouth County : October 24, London ; October 27, Army and Navy; October 31, Durham. The League team's engagements for the month are: — October 7, Bradford ; October 10, Rochdale; Octobe* 14, York October 17, Salford : October 21, Runcorn; October 24, Cumberland League; October 29, Teigle ; October 31, Kingston Rovers.
