FIRE IN THE COUNTRY.
[BY TELEGHAI'H.OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] Kaitaia. Tuesday. Mr. Kirtlax's dwelling, at Takahue, was destroyed by fire last - night. The house was occupied by two Miss Kirtlans, and Miss MeKenzie, school teacher. They were awakened about midnight by hearing a noise and found the house on fire. Two desks were saved, everything else t being, lost. The ' building was insured .in the Royal office. The building was the Takahue post office, but not being mail day little or no mail matter was lost.
