[by telegraph.—special correspondent.] Wellington, Tuesday. In a petition , presented to tjio Houw today by Mr. Bollard, John MoLeod, of Auckland, is asking that the sum of £100 be paid to his eon, Mr. Neil G. McLeod, ae the gratuity due to .him as a lieutenant in the Ninth Contingent. This ijtem, it is stated, was included in a claim submitted by Lieutenant McLeod to the Defence • Department, but the sum was not included in the amount paid to him.
