DEATH ON THE SEA SHORE.
I [by telegraph.—press association.] I Wellington, Wednesday, j The police authorities received information ' this morning that a, man, apparently in a j fit, was lying on the beach at Magazine j Point, Orients! Bay. On Constable Hood j going our about 10.30 o'clock he found the I body of r man. face downwards, on the ! sand, with blood oozing from the mouth, j a bullet wound in the left breast, and a j revolver at the feet. One chamber of the \ revolver had been discharged. Dr. Henry ; was sent for, and on arrival pronounced I life to be extinct, I The body, which was that of a man • about '40, and respectably clothed, was J conveyed to the morgue. ! It appears that the man's name is Andrew ! Petterson, and thai he is' a recent arrival { from America., as letters addressed to that i name, Chicago, U.S.A., were found in the j pockets of deceased. He has a , brother I engaged sin keeping a .boardinghouse in ; Hawera.
