New York, August 20. Hayes, the winner of the Marathon race, who arrived in New York from 1 England to-day, testified to English } fair play at the Olympic games, conS demning the assertions made to the I contrary. Hnlxtcad. another of the competitors at the Olympic games, also declared that he was perfectly satisfied, adding that practically id! the disputes had been due to the difference between British and American rules.
The Daily Mail declare* that President Roosevelt intimate* that lie ha* no sympathy with the complaint* of discrimination" against American »lhletes at the Olympic games, but has stated his willingness to inquire into matters personally when the men visit him.
