CAMBRIDGE TOWN HALL.

Cambridge, Thursday. A special meeting of the Borough Council was held this evening to, the purpose of accepting one of the 14 competitive designs received for the proposed town hall, the successful architect to receive the prize of £10. The selection was reduced to four designs over the nom-de-plumes of "AngloIndian," "Nemo,"' "Progress," and "Te Whetu." At the time of the telegraph office closing a discussion was proceeding regarding the merits of each, the weight of opinion favouring (lie first-mentioned, which will no doubt receive the award. The estimated cost is £5500. A [Kill of the ratepayers on the question of raising a loan for the purpose hats been fixed for September 11,.
