A TOBACCO TRANSACTION.

Wkstpokt, Thursday. At the Magistrate's Court- to-day Hnakon Haakonson (informant in the perjury charge against Connelly) was charged by the Collector of Customs with unlawfully dealing with 451b of nn-C'ustomed tobacco, on May 1 Counsel for defendant asked for an adjournment until after the hearing of the perjury charge at the Hokitika Supreme Court, on September 17. Council for prosecution atfked that bail lie fixed. .Mr. Hawf.on. S.M., adjourned the case til! October '6, and ordered defendant to enter into his own recognisances to appear.
