The Coroner's jury has returned a verdict of accidental death in the shooting of Hugh Kyle Dunn, a. prison warder, by his brother-in-law. J. W. A day or two before the tragedy Itoritr sent a. message to the police, and Constable Boxhall went to the bouse. Hosier asked the officer to get. Dunn away from the premises. Dunn bad called there seeking his wife, " who had removed from her Husband's residence at Co burg a number of articles of furniture. Dunn would not leave the place, and said he had come there to get his wife. The constable told him that Hosier was master in hi« own house, and- ; that if he did not go away he might be given in charge for trespass. Dunn went ■to the frontdoor. Mrs. Hosfer called hint back, and (said to him, "I will have a bavin this." Dunn said be would have his • wife at any price. Mrs. Dunn in believed to 'have wandoicol about all night without returning home. She came . back in the morning, and then, went- to bed. . , On the day of the fatal occurrence Mrs. Rosier sent a telegram to Dunn asking him to come out to Elsternwick in the evening, as ' she wanted to batch up tin; quarrel. When he came but Mrs. Dunn Was not at home, and Hosier was having' his tea in the kitchen. "Dunn entered, the kitchen. ' Mrs, Hosier was in the front room. Sh« heard a loud altercation in the- kitohen, and both men ritdied down the passage, and* burst into the room she Was in. They '; i struggled there for a moment, and a shot wan fired. Dunn dropped dead in Mrs. Hosier's anna with a '(shot wound through '.' the heart.
