At the hide market to-day all classes were firm, with good competition. ;; THE BRAYBROOK DISASTER. (Received June-19, 12.20 a.m.) - Melbourne, June 18. ;' At the inquiry in regard to the Braybrook railway disaster to-day Driver Milburn, who repeatedly broke down, deposed that- he tested the brakes when he took charge of (lie engines, and they were then in perfect order. Approaching the distent signal at Braybrook Junction at a upeed of 60 miles he applied the brakes. They appeared to grip properly, and he reduced Iho speed to 40 miles. Then the train jumped forward, and again he made an emergency appiication of the brakes, but this time they failed to act properly.
