Last year's show was. considered to have reached highwale]' mark in quality, yet this year's exhibits, though in some classes not quite so numerous, were equal in merit to the high standard then set. despite the tact that the season has not been so good. One of the most notable events of the show was. the ■heavy scoring in cheese of Mr. John Sawyer, of Edendale, who won 12 out of 14 awards in tour classes for factory, and was awarded for the third successive year the handsome 60-guinea cup, which now hecomes his property. The Agricultural Department's exhibit here, as elsewhere, was the centre of considerable interest, and its value as an object, lesson was freely admitted
