RUSSIA AND PERSIA.
A FRONTIER INCIDENT.

St. Petersburg, June 4. Persia has satisfied Russia's claims for compensation in connection with the attack made last month by brigands on the Russian frontier guards at Beliasuverski, on the north-east frontier of the Azerbaijan.
A couple of months ago 500 Persian brigands attacked tho Russian frontier guards lit Keliasuverski, and killed four men, including tho captain, and wounded five others. Thirty-four brigands were killed by the guards'. Russia, in addition to making strong representations to Teheran regarding the inclusion, .sent reinforcements from Baku to the frontier. On May £5 a cable from St. Petersburg stated thai the Tsar had given the Persian Government .1.5 days in which to compensate the Russians attacked, the notification being in tho nature of an ultimatum.
