Touched by the appeal of a dying consumptive girl who was unknown to the Queen, to visit her, on the ground that she had never been able to see Her Majesty, Queen Alexandra carried a bouquet to the girl at St. Luke's Hospital, Bayswatei, and shook hands with and comforted the patient.

Her Majesty also distributed roses among other patients at the institution.
