GIGANTIC SPOT ON THE SUN.
*a» SEVERAL TIMES AS BIG AS THE EARTH. [BY telegraph.—pbess .ASSOCIATION'.] Napier, Tuesday.. The Very Rev. Dr. Kennedy, of Meanee. points out that there is a large spot on .the sun at the present time, near the centre of its disc, and visible through a smoked glass. It is 52,000 miles in diameter, and about 560,000,000 of square miles in area, several times as big as the earth.
